MTN Uganda launches 2015 Innovation Awards

MTN Uganda has this morning announced a platform through which they will recognize the most outstanding locally developed mobile and desktop applications, the MTN Innovation Awards. The awards will also recognize individuals and organisations that have been at the forefront of enabling the innovation ecosystem in the country.

Nsangi Secondary School recipient of Samsung Solar Powered Internet School

Samsung Electronics has announced Nsangi Secondary School as the recipient of a Solar Powered Internet School (SPIS) that was on showcase at Innovation Africa Summit. After the Summit that ended yesterday, the SPIS will be transported to the grounds of the school to serve as a fountain of knowledge for the learners of Wakiso Abey Tau, Corporate Citizenship and Public Affairs Manager for Samsung Africa RHQ comments: “We wanted to make an impact beyond the event and leave a lasting legacy by giving the people of Uganda an educational solution that is going to serve the community long after we have left the country.”

Over 40 countries represented at 5th Innovation Africa Summit

Over 400 delegates from over 40 countries, speaking more than 4 languages are attending the  5thannual Innovation Africa summit that kicked off yesterday at the Speke Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala. The high level Education and Technology summit started with an official government breakfast organized for selected delegates and guests and an interactive technology discussion hosted by HP, Intel and Microsoft for ministers and officials.
